River Oaks Golf Course -- Press Release

River Oaks Golf Course, a Championship 18-hole facility in western Iredell County just south of I-40 at exit 141, says they have reopened for play after extensive improvements were completed.

River Oaks Golf Course was purchased by Tony Henderson, a Statesville native, on 6 Apr 2010.  Mr Henderson is a recently retired Air Force Colonel, returning to Iredell County after 27 years of service.  He is a graduate of West Iredell High School, class of 1979.  Henderson believes River Oaks Golf Course has tremendous potential and offers a unique, mountain feel.  He says what the course has lacked until now is a committed, local owner/operator.

Immediately after the purchase, Mr Henderson closed the course to accomplish numerous repairs and improvements.  After an intense 3 week period, the repairs and upgrades have turned River Oaks into a breathtaking venue promising a unique golf challenge for players of all experience levels.

James Mode remains at River Oaks as the Director of Golf.  Based on preliminary measurements, Mode says the new Par 72 layout stretches over 6800 yards from the championship tees. 

To enhance the golf experience, River Oaks has contracted with EZ-GO to provide a new fleet of golf carts for play.  These 2010 model electric carts are both quiet and environmentally friendly.

18-hole rates are $29 weekdays, $24 after 1pm and $18 after 4pm.  Weekend and holiday rates are $35, dropping to $30 after 1pm and $20 after 4pm.  Seniors play for only $20 weekdays.   All rates include cart.  River Oaks offers individual and corporate memberships.  The club is also available for golf outings.  Building lots with spectacular views of the course are available for custom home sites.
